Tagaytay City, Philippines (July 13-17, 2026) — Atlas Fertilizer Corporation (AFC) proudly participated as a Silver Sponsor at the 32nd National Fruit Symposium held at the Development Academy of the Philippines. Organized by the Philippine Fruit Association in partnership with Cavite State University, this year’s symposium carried the theme, Future-Proofing the Philippine Fruit Industry: Resilience, Innovation, and Inclusive Growth.
The symposium brought together nearly 300 farmers, researchers, government representatives, industry partners, and agricultural professionals committed to advancing the Philippine fruit industry.
During the opening program, Dr. Pablito M. Magdalita, Chairman of the Philippine Fruit Association, emphasized the importance of collaboration in strengthening agriculture and advancing the country’s fruit industry. His message was followed by Dr. Joselito Laguarda, City Agriculturist of Tagaytay City, who highlighted the value of continuous learning, scientific innovation, and knowledge sharing in addressing industry challenges and creating new opportunities for Filipino fruit growers.
Sharing Practical Solutions for Fruit Growers
As one of the symposium’s invited speakers, AFC’s Marketing Manager Jerome C. Banatlao delivered a presentation on the 4Rs of Nutrient Stewardship, a globally recognized approach that promotes responsible fertilizer management through the Right Source, Right Rate, Right Time, and Right Place.
His presentation highlighted how balanced nutrient management helps improve nutrient efficiency, supports healthier crop development, and contributes to better yields while promoting long–term soil productivity.
As Mr. Banatlao shared,
“A successful harvest does not end at harvest time. It comes from giving back to the soil what the harvest takes away. Through the right fertilizer and the 4Rs of nutrient stewardship, we help farmers maximize productivity today while protecting their fields for tomorrow.”
The session encouraged growers to view nutrient management not only as a way to increase production but also as an investment in the long-term sustainability of their farms.

Extending the learning experience beyond the symposium, participants joined an educational field tour visiting the CvSU Agri-Eco Tourism Park and Silan Agri Farm in Indang, Cavite, as well as Green Thumb Farm in Silang, Cavite. The tour provided firsthand insights into successful farming operations, agritourism initiatives, and sustainable agricultural practices.
