Atlas Fertilizer Corporation being active on innovation, technology transfer and study on coconut nutrition in the country joined the Philippine Coconut Authority’s 30th National Coconut Week and 3 rd International Festival held at the Megatrade Hall 1, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City on August 18-21, 2016. AFC sponsored a booth which showcased Coco Gro (14-5- 20-0.02B), our manufactured fertilizer recommended for coconut.
Administrator Glenn B. Santos of PCA said that this celebration was a convergence of all coconut stakeholders envisioned to optimize opportunities and address challenges through cooperation among Philippine industry players.
This year’s theme “Coco Farm Productivity, Answer to Poverty” highlighted the versatility of coconut through a showcase of various food and non-food products and by-products from different parts of the country. Also featured was the recent coconut processing technologies and innovations, potentials of virgin coconut oil (VCO) in the local and international markets, coconut wood-making and interactive trainings on handicraft-making and traditional uses of coconuts.
AFC Marketing Services Section and Product Development Group manned the booth displaying various non-traditional grades of fertilizers of the company. Visitors of the exhibit were provided with brochures on fertilization guides for crops using non-traditional grade fertilizers AFC is producing. Questions like how to fertilize, when to fertilize and how much fertilizer to apply were provided answers by the technical team.
Celebrities who graced the event were Chef Boy Logro who prepared authentic coconut dishes and child wonder, Ryzza Mae Dizon who entertained the crowd with her song and dance number with Winnie Cordero as the host during the program.
